(a) Management studies, (b) Entrepreneurship

and Head, Department of Entrepreneurship

Excellency, the Governor-Chancellor nominated him
to serve as a Member of the Syndicate of Madurai
Kamaraj University during the period1994-1997. |

4.
The Department of Entrepreneurship Studies was established
by the university without any financial commitment
on the part of University. However, he was
able to generate a surplus of Rs. 2 crores during
the course of six years (1997 – 2003) through
self-supporting academic programmes under Industry – University
Collaboration. |

5. Extensive
Research Work has been undertaken, completed 15 major
research / consultancy assignments sponsored by National
and International Agencies. He has so far produced
25 Ph.Ds and 1 Ph.D. research scholar is awaiting
the result. 6 Ph.Ds are
in progress. |

6.
Fostered the Entrepreneurship Culture among educated
youth for the past two decades and served as Member
Secretary of Centre for Entrepreneurship Development
(Tamil Nadu), a public charitable trust and State
Level approved Entrepreneurship Development Institution
recognized and sponsored by Ministry of MSME, Government
of India and Industries Department, Government of
Tamil Nadu. |

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Information Technology
Incubator Centre (ITIC), established by CED (Tamil
Nadu) at an expenditure of Rs.100 lakhs with the
support from Govt. of India and Govt. of Tamil

Headed the Consultancy Team to prepare the Diagnostic
Study and Detailed Techno-Economic Feasibility
Study for the Cereals, Pulses & Staples
(CPS) Milling Cluster, sponsored by Tamil
Nadu Chamber of Commerce & Industry,
Madurai as the Cluster Development Project
under the Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation
Scheme (IIUS), Ministry of Commerce, Government
of India. The Project received a
grant-in-aid support of Rs.30 crores for
the Food Industry Cluster of Madurai. |

9. Undertaken
a number of prestigious assignments such as:
A)
Trained more than 500 College Teachers in Tamil Nadu
as Nodal Officers to manage the EDCs in the Colleges.
B)
Supported to establish Entrepreneurship Development
Cells in more than 100 colleges of Tamil Nadu.
C) Conducted hundreds of Entrepreneurship Awareness
Camps (EAC) in the colleges of Tamil Nadu with
the
support of Department
of Science and Technology, Government of India,
New Delhi.
D) Provided Entrepreneurship and Managerial Skill
Development Training to the Entrepreneurs in Food
Processing
and Agro-based Industries under
the sponsorship of Government of Tamil Nadu.
E) Conducted the ILO survey to identify employable
and marketable skills for adolescents in five
districts of Tamil Nadu. |
