IT Incubator Centre

Genesis :

Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (Tamil Nadu) true to its mandate is keen to provide support facilities to the aspiring technopreneurs in IT Industry in the form of a fully developed IT Incubator Centre. The start-up entrepreneurs in IT & ITES Sector are provided all facilities under one roof for venture creation in IT & ITES Sector. Therefore, the Information Technology Incubator was not only used for grooming the start-up entrepreneurs but also to train the budding entrepreneurs to get motivated to establish ventures in IT & ITES Sector.

Venue of the ITIC :

It was originally established in the Hotel Bluelines Complex, Aruppukottai Main Road (Near Airport), Madurai – 625 022. The entrepreneurs availing the services of the ITIC found it difficult to bring the work force to the IT Incubator Centre which was away 12 kms. from the city. Thereafter, the CED (Tamil Nadu) was shifted to the heart of the Madurai City at Door No.54, Visuvasapuri 1st Street, Gnanaolipuram, Madurai – 625 016 and the ITIC was established in the CED campus. Now the ITIC is functioning in the present address.

Facilities of the ITIC :

The startup entrepreneurs in IT Industry can have the advantage of readymade infrastructure in a most conducive and pleasant environment suitable both for R & D as well as business services. The campus is very attractive having been located in the heart of the city with all facilities such as Air-conditioned training halls, banquet hall, library, restaurant, etc.

The IT Incubator was established during the year 2004-05 with 80 computer workstations with higher-end configuration in 8 self contained air-conditioned rooms connected with two powerful redundant servers and dedicated internet connectivity. The Information Technology Incubator was formally inaugurated by His Excellency the then Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. P.S. Rama Mohan Rao on October 23, 2004.

The ITIC was well planned with 8 A/c cubicles functioning under the guidance of our project leader. Common facilities such as centralized reception, front office, photocopying and printing facilities, inter office and external communication facilities have been provided. This ITIC has been established at an expenditure of Rs.100 lakhs and implemented by CED (Tamil Nadu) with grant-in-aid support from Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu. Further CED has organized common facilities such as digital photocopier, scanner, fax, latest software and three well-qualified & highly experienced faculty in its IT Incubator Centre.
